MISCANTHUS
The dried stem mass is harvested from the 3rd year on between April and May using a straw cutter.
At the time of harvesting, this material should have a maximum moisture content of 20 %. Miscanthus must be stored under dry conditions.
The softening point of miscanthus ash (slag formation) is reached at around 900 °C (wood ash 1200 °C)
it is recommended to mix the fuel prior to combustion with approx. 0.3 - 0.5 percent by weight (boilers up to 50 kW) and 0.5 - 0.8 percent by weight (boilers > 50 kW)
hydrated lime Ca(OH)2 = dissolved powdery lime.
Thus raises the calcium proportion in the fuel and the point at which the ash softens increases.
